Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie Donuts


Donut Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/8 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
1 3/4 Cups AP Flour (Not Compressed)
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda or 1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chip Morsels

Chocolate Glaze Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup White Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/8 Cup Milk of Choice
- 1/8 Cup Butter
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tsp Sugar
- 2 Tsp AP Flour*
- 4 Tsp Corn Starch*

Donut Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350. Microwave butter for 30-40 seconds.Make sure its melted, but not scolding hot. Then in large mixing bowl, mix sugars with butter until blended well. Then stir in applesauce and vanilla. Add the baking soda, salt and flour next. The donut doe should be soft a somewhat sticky now. Finally stir in chocolate chips. Once mixed, placed in donut baking pan. Make sure to flatten doe until smooth as possible with spoon or knife after pouring into donut pan. Bake for around 10 minutes until you can poke toothpick in bread without any dough sticking to it. Then remove and place on counter for 10-15 minutes before adding glaze to tops.

Glaze Instructions:
Place all glaze ingredients (without *'s) in medium microwave-safe bowl. Stir well, then place in microwave for 1-2 minutes or until its smooth. Whisk or stir rapidly for a couple of minutes. Then add in AP Flour and Corn Starch while continuing to whisk to thicken. More can be added if needed. Can also place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to help thicken. Once thick enough, smother tops of donuts.

Makes:
10-12 donuts depending on thickness desired.

Stores:
Between 3-5 days in the refrigerator in a sealed container.

Serve:
Fresh or warmed up in the microwave for 15-30 seconds. :)

Can use the donut instructions to make regular chocolate chip cookies.
